Facility Management Members can obtain various certifications and designations through Houston BOMA, BOMI, and BOMA International programs.
Certificate Programs
- Foundations of Real Estate Management Certificate
- A soup-to-nuts, 7-module, 30-hour, entry-level course, covering the fundamentals of commercial real estate administration, management, building systems, accounting and reporting, contract management and more.
- CMCP Certificate
- We are pleased to introduce the new Certified Manager of Commercial Properties™ (CMCP™), a certification designed for early-career property professionals who are looking to validate their industry knowledge and take their careers in commercial real estate to the next level. As the only certification of its kind in the industry, the CMCP instantly communicates your ability to be an effective commercial property manager and your strong understanding of the responsibilities of the role. Earning the CMCP certification is the first step in building a successful career in commercial real estate.
- Managing Industrial Properties 101
- BOMA International’s Managing Industrial Properties course covers the basics of industrial property management and is ideal for new property managers or experienced property managers who are new to industrial real estate. This class offers eight (8) hours of TREC approval with Houston BOMA.

- The Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®) designation program benefits new and experienced facilities professionals alike. Through the in-depth coverage of critical-needs topics—including planning and project management, facilities technologies, finance and investment, and environmental health and worker safety—the FMA program helps position facilities managers as key strategic contributors within their organizations.
- To earn the FMA designation, you must complete seven mandatory courses, plus one elective course. Students do not have to take the courses in any specific order. However, if you are new to the curriculum, you may consider beginning with subject matter you are already familiar with and save new material for later study. This will ensure immediate success in your professional development.

- The Real Property Administrator (RPA®) designation program serves the educational needs of both third-party property managers and corporate property managers. Courses leading to an RPA cover every aspect of property management, from the basics of building design, operation and maintenance, to the specialized areas of commercial property law and risk management, marketing and asset management. Through this program, property managers learn to maximize the net income of any property, be it one building or an entire portfolio.

- High-Performance Sustainable Buildings Designation (BOMI-HP):
- The BOMI-HP® High Performance Sustainable Buildings Designation program provides real estate professionals with an in-depth understanding of how to define, initiate, pay for, complete, and obtain a return on investment for sustainable initiatives within all segments of a building or portfolio.
