Leadership Lyceum
About the Leadership Lyceum Program
The Leadership Lyceum program is for property and engineer managers who have been in the commercial real estate industry for less than 10 years and are looking to develop overall leadership skills. The program teaches future leaders everything they need to know about BOMA and our industry. Candidates will learn more about the industry and the association, network with peers, and develop valuable leadership skills that will help advance their careers. The program incorporates discussions with commercial real estate executives, local city officials, and members of the media in a small group setting.
Applications for 2025 are now open! For more information, download the program curriculum and schedule here. Applications close December 11, 2024, and selected candidates will be announced on December 18.

What former Leadership Lyceum participants had to say about the program:
- "I had the privilege of previously attending Houston BOMA educational programs like the Foundations of Real Estate Management course which gave an overview of the industry including site tours. Houston BOMA had already increased my knowledge of the commercial real estate industry many times over, so I jumped at the chance of being a part of the Leadership Lyceum Program. To be able to meet so many people within the industry as well as City Council members was an invaluable experience. The Lyceum also highlighted BOMA’s advocacy efforts concerning our industry’s legislative issues, including taxes and firearms, which I found very insightful. I truly discovered BOMA’s depth and impact on the commercial real estate industry through the Leadership Lyceum." - Tara Cameron, Midway Companies, Class of 2019
- "I'm so grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity. The Leadership Lyceum Program gave me a greater understanding of the profound impact that Houston BOMA has on it's members and the Commercial Real Estate industry as a whole. Each of the sessions and speakers presented provided invaluable knowledge, and shared firsthand experiences, that will surely have a positive affect on my career going forward. The program also gave me the opportunity to connect with colleagues in the industry who I know I can call on for support, guidance, and comradeship - this group of professionals was filled with true leaders, and I am proud to have been included. Anyone who is serious about furthering their CRE career should take advantage of this amazing program - Thank You Houston BOMA! - Renee Boutelle, NexCore Properties TX LLC, Class of 2019
- "Participating in Leadership Lyceum was one of the best experiences I've had since joining the CRE industry in 2016. Initially I enrolled in hopes to learn more about how I could be a young leader and advance my career. Not only did I get incredible insight and mentorship on how to accomplish those goals, but getting to know the Houston BOMA team and seeing how the Board works has motivated me to continue to seek out opportunities to learn and share my own knowledge. I've become more involved and driven in my own company, and found a passion in legislative issues and education, and I know that it's in part due to my experiences with Leadership Lyceum." - Heather McGullam, Tanglewood Property, Class of 2019
