Don't Get Taxed out of Town!
Ask Your Legislator to Support Senate Bill 2 for Property Tax Relief and Reform
Senate Bill 2 provides much-needed relief to Texas business and property owners watching their property taxes increase year after year with little recourse. Filed in November 2016 by Republican Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt, Senate Bill (SB) 2, or The Texas Property Tax Reform and Relief Act of 2017, would require cities and counties to ask for voter approval for any property tax hike greater than four percent, from the previous threshold of eight percent, and would not affect school district taxes.
We need your help to urge state leaders to make true appraisal district reform, as well as mandatory tax rate rollbacks, a priority during this special legislative session. Use the tools below to contact your legislator today and ask them to support Senate Bill 2 for property tax relief and reform during the 2017 Special Session!
