Fire Plan Review and Inspection Fees Effective December 31, 2011
The City of Houston Fire Department adopted additional permitting and inspection fees to cover costs associated with the inspections and plan reviews of certain permits.
The following fees, plan review and inspection items will change after the aforementioned effective date.
Please note that any plans that are submitted prior to the effective date will be assessed at the current rate.
Fire Sprinkler Fees
Minimum fee of …………………………………………$75.00 and $3.50/head after the minimum is met.
In addition to this a separate, sprinkler plan review fee of $1.75 per head will be assessed when submitting plans.
Standpipe Fees
Standpipe system fees for 1 to 25 hose connections will be increased from $55.00 to $ 75.00, with each additional hose connection at $3.50.
Fire Alarm Fees
Fees for the plan review and inspection of fire alarm systems will be as follows:
0-10 devices........................................................... $ 70.00
11-25 devices......................................................... $100.00
26-200 devices....................................................... $150.00
For each additional device after the first 200............. $ 2.50
(Note: “Strobe Only” projects will be charged a fee based on the number of devices above.)
In addition to the fees assessed, the Fire Alarm Permit Application (CE-1046) shall be submitted along with the plans for review by the Fire Marshal.

High Piled Storage Fees
The fees for the plan review and inspection of high piled storage buildings will be $250.00.
H Occupancy Fees
The fees for the plan review and inspection of H occupancy buildings or buildings with tank storage will be $350.00.
Revision Fees
There will be a $100.00 fee for the revision of plans.
Reinspection fees
The fee of a third onsite reinspection (if necessary) will be $300.00
Please note that all permits will be processed with a $26.00 administration fee.
